New tooth!

Katy has been quite miffed that she is the last kid in the universe to lose a tooth!!!

We discovered this morning that she has an adult tooth coming in behind her bottom baby tooth !!

Dentist booked!!

I think I need to join Katy's class to learn about US legal tender! I have a great deal of trouble recognizing the different coins. The kids are expected to recognize them in black and white based on the president's profile!

Love notes from Katy

Last night Katy said she didn't want to go to school because she hadn't spent enough time with mummy and daddy this weekend. It's true. It is a very busy time for us right now!

It was super cute to find this note tucked into my paperwork this morning!

Almost 7 Fairy Princess

The boiled sweet gymnast!

After working really hard and sticking through a rough patch with some mean girls in class a while ago, and sticking and persevering, and because Katy will be participating in her first gymnastics meet at the end of May, Katy was thrilled to get a new leotard. It's a proper competition one with TAGS emblazoned in crystals (the name of her club). Katy is not in the competition stream but she does really like gymnastics! 

Loveletter to "Kaben"

Katy definitely is her Daddy's daughter.  She loves her "kaben" passionately!  And she is challenged with spelling...

Translation into standard English:

"I love you.  The cabin is a place that you can go outside and swim.  I love you cabin."

Considering she only learnt to read yesterday, that's a pretty valiant effort at a love letter from scratch with no help from any adult or smart kid nearby!

Cousin capers

Katy is having a super time cavorting with her cousins. She is particularly think in cahoots with Noah. The two of them are hilarious together!

St Joseph's

Enroute to Long Prairie for Easter, we stopped in St Joseph's for the 1pm Veneration. This is a college town for two well known catholic colleges - an all girls Benedictine one and an all boys Benedictine one. The church was very large and packed! It was a lovely service although very very long. Katy did a great job throughout.

I just received a message from the mother of a little girl whose birthday party Katy just attended this afternoon.

It said...

...I just wanted to tell you how appreciative I am of Katy and how glad I am that she and Elsa are friends.   Katy is a spectacular little girl.   I was so impressed by her today.  She was genuinely kind and caring toward Mikayla and went out of her way several times to make sure Mikayla was doing alright.

So nice to hear about your child behaving in a kind way.
