Mt Bachelor

Despite a "heat wave" in Bend resulting in balmy temperatures in the 40s and a lack of snow, we headed up to Mt Bachelor to check out the skiing.  The locals were staying away but the snow was actually not too bad, especially compared to Australian and Twin Cities ski conditions.

Katy was excited to try out her new skis and boots and show Ellie the ropes for her first time skiing.

Of course after a hard day's skiing, the best treat is a warm soak.
 
 Tita Sally enjoyed seeing Katy again and especially loved speaking with Katy in Tagalog.  Much to our amazement, Sally said that Katy was always answering her in Tagalog even if Sally spoke to her in English.  This was wonderful to hear because it's always a big job reminding Katy to speak Tagalog with Julie at home!
