Scenes of Brunei

In the afternoon, the whole family decamped to the vast Empire Hotel, which boasts the hugest hotel lobby we've ever seen.  It's meant to be a "7 star" hotel that you only find in these oil rich sultanates!
Rick and I really enjoyed swimming in the ocean, but Katy preferred the pool.  The ocean water was quite clear and we had a few waves, like in Darwin.  As the sun set over the ocean, we could see the fires from oil rigs way out at sea.
We loved visiting the current Sultan's mosque near Denise's shop and restaurant.  It has beautiful 24K gold domes and huge Carrera marble slabs.  It was actually a very beautiful and restrained style and we wanted to visit.  Next time!
