House On Stilts

Katy has never been really into art.  She loves to draw and paint, like most kids, but she's never struck us as being particularly interested or focused on art.  Most of the time, she tends to be quite peremptory in her approach to art, especially at school or in class.

We have encouraged her to take art classes in Mandarin, just to give her something fun to do in Mandarin rather than just language classes all the time.  And maybe this is starting to do  the trick, or maybe it's just a question of age and development.

Lately, we've been noticing that Katy has been drawing much more detailed and interesting pictures, with a great deal more care and thought.

This Mama loves them, for sure!

Postscript ~ the day after

So Katy started talking about her "house with legs, that lives in Japan, so it can run away when there are earthquakes..."
