Ab Fab!

When the kids are at school, the Mummies come out to play!  We do live a very privileged life in Hong Kong.  It makes it far easier to be a "stay at home" Mummy.  I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to make Katy my vocation and career!  And as part of that, I am very blessed to have had a wonderful group of Mummy friends.  We support each other and help each other with everything.  I would never have survived without them!

Maxine, Debbie and I met in Pure's prenatal fitness class.  We've been having very long weekly lunches since Debbie moved back to Hong Kong in August 2010, and we've formed a close-knit bond over schools and extra-curricular classes, and terrible twos, threes and ferocious fours, feeding, weaning, food for picky eaters, sleep issues, health scares - everything!

This week we had a super lovely lunch to celebrate Maxine's birthday.

We finally made it to Robuchon, which is a place we've all been trying to lunch at together for a long while.  It's on my HK foodie bucket list!  And it didn't disappoint!

The food was superb, especially the bread basket!  The presentation was sublime.  The caramel macarons were divine!  And the service was beyond fabulous.  We told them it was Maxine's birthday, and they arranged a lovely dessert birthday plate and took a fantastic photo, which they then presented to Maxine in a commemorative cover.
Several hours later, we left very full and happy and feeling very civilised.  It was a very civilised day all round.  Rick and I had a great quick early dinner at Amuse Bouche, where Kent spoiled us as usual with lots of complimentary dishes and wines, and then we had a lovely evening at the theatre seeing the legendary Agatha Christie play The Mousetrap.
