Mai Khao Beach

Wild surf didn't put us off.  The beach was beautiful with golden, coarse but soft, springy sand.  Dada couldn't resist hurling a coconut into the briny foam.
Katy was a little apprehensive at first, but warmed up after finding a shell and a baby cuttlefish bone.
Our resort isn't right on the beach - it's a little set back and for some reason access to the beach requires a circuitous route, but we're looking forward to a nice walk along the beach and maybe even a quick dip in the washing machine waves.  We love that the beach is so wild, natural and remote.  It's quite empty, especially for a Phuket beach.

We enjoyed our exploratory walk from our resort along the beach to the JW Marriott next door, where we had a lovely Thai dinner at Ginja's with Yves, Mo and TY.
