Thailand is one hour behind Hong Kong, so although Katy had collapsed exhausted in bed around 8pm, she was awake at 5am, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready for our family holiday tradition - Mama and Katy explore our hotel/resort in the early hours of the morning while everyone else sleeps.
However, Mama first decided 5.30am was a little too early and, with a separate living room, but no Mila or Julie, Mama decided to try out our new Minnesota lifestyle aid - the television - to snatch a half hour more shut-eye while Katy had breakfast watching TV. Katy doesn't really like watching TV that much, and we don't have one readily available for her to watch in HK, so Mama declared that "on holidays kids get to watch lots of TV".
Once Mama was able to get out of bed, off we went on our adventure...heading out from our room 4446.
First, Mama and Katy explored all around our buildings to find a secret path to the pool. Then we swam in the pool and learned how to use our snorkels, while it bucketed down cats and dogs and the pool staff laughed at us. We loved swimming in the rain! And we had the whole pool and whole resort to ourselves!
Then Mama tried water yoga while Katy was very considerate and played nearby quietly for an hour and tried to follow along.
Then we tried out the pool slide. Mama and Dada and Katy love pool slides, and this was a great one for little kids - long and not too steep.
After all the overnight and morning rain, the pool was a little cold, so we had to have a little hot chocolate to warm up.
