Katy has been obsessed about lemonade stands ever since she read about Pinkalicious' lemonade stand and her interest intensified earlier this month after seeing the next door neighbour kids host a lemonade stand to raise money for charity. Dada won't let Katy have a lemonade stand until she's older, so she decided to host a family lemonade stand right here in the comfort and safety of the living room.
She proudly showed me her cute little stand and cash register, complete with "real money".

And she even put on her high heels!
The lemonade was a little pricey...HS$50 for 2 cups! (That's US$6.50!). And she explained that we couldn't pay in coins as she only accepts paper money!
Katy also made sure to weigh the lemonade to make sure she was serving standard portions!
And she drafted up a set of "rules" for the lemonade stand, which were tucked at the back.
When I told Katy how delicious her lemonade was, she asked me excitedly if it was "chewy". Those who have read the Pinkalicious book will know the reference. She seemed a bit disappointed when I assured her that it wasn't chewy, but that lemonade is not meant to be chewy. Katy has had a lot of practice making lemonade, and her family has had a lot of practice drinking some very strange concoctions over the years...
Katy has loved playing make believe games (hotel, aeroplane, house) ever since she was 2. And we love seeing how creative and earnest she gets when left to her own devices!
