First Piano Recital

Katy was thrilled to perform at her first piano recital today. She played "Lightly Row" as her solo, with beautiful rainbow hands, great posture and a solemn bow.

She wasn't nervous at all, just excited to be spending her first concert with Olivia, her "sister friend".
After their solos, Katy, Olivia and Sally played Twinkle Theme together. It was beautiful.

Uncle Bert, Auntie Pinky and Gabriel came to show their support. Gabriel was a complete angel throughout and listened attentively!
Katy was very proud to receive her first concert bouquet from Uncle Bert, Auntie Pinky, Kung Kung and Poh Poh. Uncle Bert said that Poh Poh was so excited about Katy's first concert that she called several times to remind Uncle Bert and Auntie Pinky to go, and insisted that they get Katy some beautiful flowers.

Katy's first piano teacher is Miss Alice. She has done a great job in introducing Katy to the piano in a supportive and encouraging way!
Miss Alice is getting married and moving to the US. She gave a pretty emotional speech thanking all her students and parents. When she got teary, Katy got a little upset too. Katy is so sensitive to emotions around her.

We've been introduced to Miss Rebecca who will be taking over from Miss Alice. The MC for the concert was Miss Jennifer, who is the Principal of the Suzuki Music School. She's a violinist.
After the concert, we had dinner with the Hills and then came home, tired but very happy.
