Tarzan Tarzan

After Pixie Hollow, we decided to go for the river cruise, which is something we did on our first ever visit to Disneyland when Nana and Papa came to visit in February 2010. Katy was a bit freaked out that time, but she enjoyed most of it this time, especially the baby elephants.
She still doesn't like the volcanoe...at all!!!Next we wanted to visit what we thought was the Swiss Family Robinson house, but turned out to be Tarzan's tree house. We'd never been before and we thought it was a lovely construction but not interactive or interesting enough. However, always a surprise, Katy was fascinated by the story of Tarzan (especially the baby in the trees and the toddler being raised by a gorilla), and insisted on going around twice. Poor Dada was a bit exhausted as there are quite a few steps and he had carried Katy the first time around. We extracted a promise from Katy that she would walk, and, after being reminded that it was Katy's birthday so we all had to dig deep to indulge her wishes, we all trekked around again, with Katy wanting a more detailed understanding of the story of Tarzan. It was then time for a nice sit in a very cool air-conditioned restaurant. What a relief as it was quite a hot day. Katy got to choose, and she wanted siu mai, so we went to the Chinese Restaurant Plaza Inn and had dim sum. In the end Katy didn't want to eat her siu mai (I guess she prefers the lowbrow 7-11 and streetfood versions more than the fancy schmancy restaurant crab roe version), but she devoured lots of loh buck goh (fried Chinese turnip cakes), which are her favourite Chinese food so far (apart from 7-11 and street stall siu mai).
She most enjoyed sharing tea with Dada from the teacups with her pinky up in the air. She insisted we drink all our drinks out of the teacups.
Then it was off to try out the Buzz Lightyear ride. Katy was too scared to try it last October, but has been a few times with Jonah since and really enjoys it now. Dada had a good time too!
