Pixie Pals

Katy does not like crowds. She does not like to interact when tehre are lots of people around and she doesn't like it when it is too noisy. This year, all the Mamas had big dilemmas about the birthday party invitation lists. How could you whittle down a list that includes school friends, ballet friends, playgroup friends and birth friends...

In consultation with Katy, we decided to keep it to a small party with just eight of Katy's friends from her baby playgroups in DB and from the prenatal class at Pure. With little brothers and sisters, it would still be a fair-sized gathering, so having it at the park was key, because there would be lots of room, and lots of different and discrete areas for play.

We wanted to invite Katy's "twin", Jonathan, even though we never see him anymore. Jonathan was born on the same day as Katy and his Mummy Carmen and I got to know each other at Pure prenatal classes pretty early in our pregnancies.
Imogen, Lola and Olivia are also prenatal pals from Pure.
Olivia and Katy have had the chance to get to know each other better recently with some fun playdates and get-togethers.
Pia is also a Pure prenatal pal, and she has her birthday five days after Katy.
Jonah was also kind of a prenatal pal in that his parents Adeline and Ernie attended the same prenatal classes as us, although we did not really get to know them until we bumped into them in Church in DB. Jonah came over for a swimming playdate when he and Katy were only 4 or 5 months old. Jo Jo has been Katy's best friend/husband for a while now, since Katy was about 18 months old. Unfortunately we don't see them much anymore, now that they have very different and very busy schedules, and they don't go to the same school.
Callum and Katy became friends at around 8 or 9 months old when they joined the same baby swimming class in DB.
And Ellie and Katy have been best gal pals with Tuesday ballet classes and playdates every week.
And then of course, there are the little brothers and sisters. Katy has been very blessed to be able to "share" these siblings with her friends, and they are usually together for playdates. She is particularly fond of Matilda, Jonah's little sister.
And has been known to share a cupcake with Quinn, Ellie's baby brother.
Katy is enjoying getting to know Keira, Callum's little sister.
And Pia's little brother is Thomas, who also gets hugged against his will by a cuddly Katy.

And the Dads have gotten to know each other quite well too, especially during "birthday party" season from April to July every year. David (Imogen & Lola), Ernie (Jonah) and Chris (Callum) try out Dada's Bloody Mary's.
