Meanwhile we have not been keeping up with the blog. The irony is of course that the busier our household is, the less we are likely to blog and vice versa.
I've spent the month thinking I've got to get some of the things Katy is saying into the blog. Of course I've forgotten all of the them now.
Yesterday afternoon, Uncle Bert and Auntie Pinky came to visit with Gabriel. It was a lovely family lunch. Gabriel has only been to our place a couple of times - and this time, Uncle Bert, Auntie Pinky and Katy decided to introduce Gabriel to Katy's tree tent.
After lunch, Katy and I took them to the bus stop for Tung Chung. On the way back, we decided to check out the beginning of the trail that goes up the hill behind our house. The very steep trail. Well, Katy was enjoying it so much and surprised me about how easily she was doing it. She just loved exploring and climbing up the trail. So somehow we decided to go all the way up the trail, Mama in flip flops.Katy made it all the way!
We talked about hiking safety, including keeping your eyes open. "Yes Mama, you have to keep your eyes open," said Katy, then looked around at me very wisely and solemnly said, "but you still have to blink sometimes."
Katy only started to get a bit tired when we started coming back down the hill. We had to borrow a mobile phone to call Dada to rescue us, and Mama piggy-backed Katy part of the way down the hill, and we flagged a contractor's van to take us part of the way. Boy were we glad to see Dada with the stroller! Katy rode in the stroller all the way home on the road. She was a real trooper though and now we can look forward to some lovely hikes together. It was beautiful weather for a hike.
