Christening

Gabriel was a little angel through his whole Christening, remaining resolutely asleep.
When the water was poured on his head, he briefly opened his eyes and looked around to see what was going on, but then fell asleep again.

Rick and I were the proud Godparents. Fr Ferdinand presented Gabriel with a cross from Church and, because it is the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Fr Ferdinand also presented Gabriel with a beautiful decorated scapula.
Katy chose her dress herself. She wanted a long dress. They were all out of pink dresses in her size, hence the bridesmaid looking dress. Perfect for playing "wedding", which is her current favourite make believe game, replacing "hotel" and "aeroplane", which she used to love playing. She also chose her headband. As noted previously, Katy is VERY determined when it comes to choosing what she wears.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the church where Rick and I were married, and where Pinky and Bert were married. It is still Bert and Mum's Parish Church, and it was Rick's and my Parish Church from when we met until we moved to Tung Chung. It is one of the more beautiful churches in Hong Kong (on the inside) and features a glorious chandelier that represents a wedding veil, with a mural of the Wedding of Cana behind.
Bert's friends Winnie, John and Angela came along, and Katy got to make friends with the their son Matthew, who was a real cutie.
Gabriel did wake briefly at one point to teach Uncle Rick how to pout.
Katy insisted on holding Gabriel too. She really loves playing with the baby. It's such a shame we live so far apart, so we only get to see them for a couple of hours a week or so.
