Baking Beauties

This afternoon, it was Ellie's turn to come over for a playdate. There was no ballet, so it meant the girls had a lot of time. So Tia and Katy decided that Katy and Ellie would make Princess cupcakes and have a Princess tea party.

We got out Katy's "good china" and Katy decided that it needed a bit of a rinse. So she rinsed out all of her good china carefully and thoroughly. She really concentrated and did a good job.

Then we got out all the tools, aprons, mitts and bits and bobs we would need - all pink and cupcake themed of course.
Katy waited anxiously for Ellie and fretted over having to wait for Ellie before starting. But finally Ellie and Quinn arrived with Tita Sally, and Katy rushed out and gave Ellie a big hug and said "you're my favourite friend". Hmm, that cupcake anticipation really brings out Katy's good side!

And then they started. The girls have both baked before and have been practicing their technique by playing a cake making game on their iPhones, so they know the steps required to make a cake.

The girls were the picture of concentration as they stirred...
...but of course, there had to be some breaks for chatting and giggling.

Tia Mila helped them to ladle the mix into the cupcake papers.

Then after the cupcakes came out of the oven, the girls made pink icing and decorated the cupcakes with sprinkles.

With some taste testing of course.
Each cupcake had a little edible colour print of a Princess. Very cute.
And very yummy!

Prince Charming enthusiastically agreed that the cupcakes were very yummy too.
