Our Little Gauguin

Katy has never really been that much into the whole arts and crafts and colouring scene. She does love all the glittery bits and fancy bits and colours, but when it comes to actually doing it, she tends to be the first to finish, and is more interested in playing than creating. Her pictures tended to be monochromatic, with a lot of white space. However, whether because she's just that little bit older, or because she's been doing so much more colouring in now at school, or because she's been really enjoying her Saturday morning Mandarin art class (she LOVES the teacher), or because of peer group pressure (she told me that Sophia told her that she wasn't colouring well because she wasn't keeping within the lines!), she seems to both enjoy her art more and to take more care and be into the whole creative process more.

The other day, she sat colouring for a really long time, concertrating hard. And just look at what she did!
I just love all the colours, the richness of the colour, the layering of the colour, and the different stroke shapes. Best of all was seeing the joy she was experiencing in the whole process.
