The God Question

At lunch:

Katy: Who's God?
Mama: We don't know. We'll have to wait until we go to Heaven to meet Him.
Katy: Why?
Mama: Because He's not human like us. He's different.
Katy: Why?
Mama: Because He made us.
Katy: Is He a He?
Mama: We don't know. We'll have to wait to find out. I don't think so. God is Everything. He isn't a He or a She.
Katy: Why?
Mama decides to try to let that one slide...
Katy: Mama, will I be able to talk to you when we're in Heaven?
Mama: Yes.
Katy: Why?
Mama: Because we'll be able to communicate. Because we love each other. We'll be there with all our family.

Katy: Mama, why did Kung Tai have to die first?
Mama: Because he was very old. He was 97. Katy is only 3.
Katy: Was he old for a long time?
Mama: Yes, he was.

Katy: Mama, will you and me die at the same time?

Mama: No, darling. I hope not. I hope you die a long time after me.
Katy (getting upset): No, I want to die at the same time as Mama.
Mama: It's ok. Mama is not going to die for a very long time. You don't need to worry. Katy will be very old when Mama dies. Mama is not going to die until Katy has grandchildren, so they can call me Poh Tai.
