I am in Darwin for Kung Tai's funeral. Katy took this news very well and listened carefully to our explanation about Kung Tai dying. She asked to see Kung Tai, but took it well that she couldn't and we would all meet up in Heaven.
It has been hard to be away from Katy, and I was a bit anxious and apprehensive the night before my trip.
The funeral was this morning. It was a lovely Buddhist ritual celebrating Kung Tai's life and wishing him well on his journey out of this world. I am so glad that I am here. I wish Rick and Katy were here too, but in the overall scheme of things, I still think that it is better that they did not come this time.
I spoke to Katy for the first time this afternoon. Daddy and Katy had just returned from Katy's Christmas concert.
I said "I love you soo much Katy".
She said " I love you soo much Mama. Where are you?"
I said "Mama is in Darwin. Remember? I have to be here to say goodbye to Kung Tai because Kung Tai has died.
She said "Mama, I miss you. When are you coming home?"
I said "I miss you too. I will be home in a few days. I will be bringing back have lots of presents for you ok?"
She said "OK, and bring a present home for Dada too."
