Hairy Crab

Auntie Pinky and Uncle Bert invited us over for hairy crab on Sunday night. It was Mama's and Katy's first time for hairy crab, and they are both big fans now!!



The roe is amazingly rich and creamy, custardy in taste and texture. The big surprise was the meat, which although a lot of work to get out, was very tasty and rewarding for the nifty fingered. Having spent many years oblivious to the frenetic hairy crab season in Hong Kong, I can see what all the fuss is all about now.
