Morning Trail with Musa

Uncle Musa is visiting us and this time, he has made a special effort to take several days off. And Hong Kong rewarded him with glorious Autumn weather. Fine and dry. Around 45% humidity and 23 degrees celsius. Glorious sunshine. And relatively clear and unpolluted to boot.

It has been a busy fun packed trip. This morning, we took Musa up to the Peak and did the Morning Trail, which Mama and Dada used to enjoy very much in pre DB days. This was Katy's first visit to the Morning Trail and second time on the Peak. Uncle Bert and Auntie Pinky took Katy and Dada to the Peak for their first outing with their new car. They went to Madame Tussaud's, which was not a favourite of Katy's. Last night, when Katy woke up, Mama settled her by reminding her that she needed to get her sleep if she wanted to come to the Peak with us. Katy replied "I don't want to go to the Peak. I don't want to see the funny people." Yep, not a fan of the waxworks.

Mama enjoyed the greenery, and taking pictures to put up into our new(ish) green HK themed guest room.

Katy actually walked (ran, jumped, skipped) most of the way around the 2.7-3.5 km trail (the signs were contradictory). We had the carseat with us too, so she got a boost from Dada from time to time.
She enjoyed holding Uncle Musa's hand and making sure Uncle Musa didn't get lost. She also enjoyed sharing her funny walks with Uncle Musa.

Katy pointed out the stormwater drain and told Uncle Musa very gravely "This is the drain. Children are not allowed to play in there because it is very dangerous." This just amazes Mama because this comment arises from a conversation Mama and Katy had several months ago when we watched a little boy playing in the very attractive looking stormwater drain across the road from us, and Mama emphasised how dangerous it is to play in the drain in case of flash floods (which occur not infrequently in HK). Katy was fascinated with this whole concept and really wanted to understand why it would be dangerous to play in the stormwater drain. To a three-year-old kid, the stormwater drain looks like a very exciting and interesting cave to explore.
