Pizza Party

Last Thursday 17th June was our inaugural rebirth of the Pure Plus playgroup. We've been missing our friends in Central, and with Olivia and Debbie moving back, we all resolved to make a better effort to get together regularly again, like we used to when the kids were littler.

Luckily Maxine took charge before our resolve could be lost in the usual flurry of activity, and she organised a great afternoon out for the kids at Pizza Express. Their pizza making parties are very popular as birthday parties, so it was an inspired choice to do it as a regular playdate.

Katy has been pretty tired and run down lately. I assumed it was because of all our big days out and the deviations from her normal routine because she has been coping really well, but I have just heard that there is a round of glandular fever/mono going around and I wonder if maybe Daddy and Katy have both been hit with it again this time. Anyways, Katy was a little apprehensive at first, as she usually is in new situations, but of course perked up when Jonah and especially Matilda arrived.

The kids looked adorable in their aprons and chef caps.

Pia was in great form that day. She has really blossomed a lot lately, and was so friendly and affectionate with everyone, especially Katy. Here Grace shows how to push out and up to get a good edge.
Adeline helped Jonah with his edges...
...while Matilda and Ernie goof around.
Katy didn't really want my help! She really enjoyed poking holes in the dough...
We had two sets of twins - Maxine helped Imogen with the spread and turn of the tomato sauce.
While Grace helped Lola with her pizza toppings.
It's so nice to have Debbie and Olivia back in our group again.Zosha was our prenatal fitness instructor - abs of steel and squats to write home about! Here is her firstborn Orlando, who she was secretly pregnant with while she was teaching us.
Our group has expanded organically. Adeline and I met at Yvonne Heavyside's prenatal class, and has been adopted into our Pure group. Yuki is a friend of Fumi's, who was pregnant with her daughter Yuuki in our Pure prenatal group.
And Marianne joined us for this playdate with twins Scarlett and Natalia. I paralegalled at Freehills with Marianne's husband during University in Sydney. And now here we are with our kids in Hong Kong!
The kids really enjoyed placing the toppings. Katy was very generous with her servings!

As usual, we tried to get a group picture, with greater success than in the past, but still a difficult task!
But what the kids loved the most were the balloons. They went wild leaping and laughing around. They really got a kick out of watching Yuki and Judah retrieve Judah's balloon from the rafters. Judah enjoyed it so much, he kept releasing his balloon over and over again!
