Well, we kept her from sweets and chocolate until age 2, but now the Pandora's Box of yummy things has been opened, and we all can't help but spoil our little Sweet Toothed Katy Rose. While we were at the lake, Katy, as the child of two passionate food lovers, enjoyed all the culinary world could offer by the lake. She did us proud with her adventurous palate and willingness to try new things. She loved Dada's foie gras, pate and lobster, but her real passion remains sweet things, especially ice creams and chocolates.
Katy enjoyed dining al fresco, especially her breakfast on the deck.

and in the front yard

and moving all the way out front to the jetty sometimes!

She also helped Nana make angel food cake, which was a triumph of toddler engineering.

And contortions as she shoved the biggest piece she could into her little mouth.

Our morning view of Katy sitting having breakfast in the dining room.

Katy also enjoyed two fabulous outings our local The Hub. The first time, we arrived by boat.

Katy enjoyed her first burger at The Hub, but of course preferred the fries! We were surprised she wanted to eat our burgers as she has not been a fan of them in the past. Must be that succulent Midwestern beef.

Dada was very amused when Katy pointed down and said "Go Vikings" upon spotting the Viking head in the carpark. Yet another example of "where do they get this from"? I didn't remember Katy ever seeing the Viking head logo for The Vikings so I was really surprised she connected it all.

We discovered mini drumsticks in Phuket, and they are a wonderful treat for Katy. The "mini" drumsticks in the US are of course much bigger...actually she can finish a whole big drumstick if left to her own devices. As it is, she has become quite aggressive about defending her treats from Mama and Dada "sharing" them.

Dada and Katy particularly fought over the last of Nana's scrumptious 4th of July Flag Fruit Pizza.

And she fairly bathed in the chocolate pretzel that Auntie Heather bought her in Duluth!

It was fun treating Katy to her first campfire and 'smores!! She found the whole thing fascinating and yummy.

And even more fun treating Katy to her first Dairy Queen cone on the way home from Duluth. She tricked Mama into letting her eat half my mint dilly bar too!

We're not quite sure why, but Katy developed a taste for raw chives while we were at the lake. She pretended she was a baby bunny eating and sampling all the herbs, but kept going back time and time again for the chives.

Also on the more healthy end of the food spectrum, Katy went mad for the wild raspberries growing in Baby Noah's backyard in Carlton. She found the whole pick and eat thing irresistible!

It was wonderful sharing lots of good food with Katy. She really embraced it all and was wonderful at sitting at the table with us to eat, entertaining all the neighbours at our little outdoor dinner party!

Unfortunately, we have not been able to persuade her to eat with us now that we are at home. She loves being on the move and she is indulged in having Tia and Naan follow her around to feed her while she plays!
But really, how could you resist her lipstick smeared little face???
