At the beach with Bert and Pinky

Bert and Pinky have been coming over quite regularly lately, and Katy has loved it! In mid August, they came over during a kids' beach carnival, so we all took Katy down for a look.



We've never let Katy swim in the sea at Discovery Bay before. We're always so worried about the pollution. Apart from anything else, lots of ferries go up and down in this area. But we thought a quick little dip wouldn't hurt, so Dada and Bertram (as Katy calls him) took Katy in for her first wade in the South China Sea.

Afterwards, Uncle Bert treated us all to a yummy gelato from the local pizzeria. Katy finished all of her adult sized one (Uncle Bert "forgot" to buy kid sizes) and insisted on trying out all of our gelati too! She really loves her ice creams!
