Take Poh Poh to School Day!
On Wednesday afternoon, Kung Kung and Poh Poh came over for lunch, and Katy was so proud and excited to bring Poh Poh with us to DMK for our Mandarin Tworrific Class.
Katy even insisted in dragging her tiger suit out of the laundry so she could get dressed up for her favourite songs "liangzhi laohu" (two little tigers), where she loves to point to her "erduo" (ears) and her "weiba" (tail) at the right parts of the song. She gets very tetchy too if you knock her hood (which she calls her hat) off her head accidentally...

To Katy's delight, Poh Poh made little rings, necklaces and bracelets for Katy out of the play dough.

Katy had one of her best classes ever - sitting when she was supposed to and being a model student!
She made a great little Teacher's Assistant when it came time to learn the dates.
But she couldn't resist going over to Poh Poh for a little cuddle in the corner now and then.
Katy then showed Poh Poh how to glue eyes and stick antennae on the bee she had made with Mama on Monday.
Then, after her favourite activity of binggan (cookies!), it was time for the little tiger to hit the playground with Poh Poh.

What a special time we had. It was totally awesome and something Katy will definitely remember and treasure. And it was so lucky we did it last week. They've now closed school for two weeks because of the cluster of swine flu cases they found at a high school in Causeway Bay last week. So Wednesday was the last class we had with Katy in the Tworrific stream. When we come back to Hong Kong in August, it will still be Summer holidays, and then when we start school again in September, Katy will be in the Over Two's Playgroup, where she will be in class all by herself. It's a big step for all us Mamas. We're a little apprehensive. The kids will do just fine of course...

Potty Training
Auntie Rachel and Uncle Paul come to visit!
Auntie Rachel and Uncle Paul came up to visit last weekend for Mama's 40th Birthday. Katy took to them immediately, almost as if she could remember them from their last visit when she was four months old!
Katy even wanted Auntie Rachel to put her to bed. She listened very well (though not for very long) while Auntie Rachel read one of the books she sent Katy for Christmas last year. Katy even obliged by going potty for Auntie Rachel - and it was the first time ever that she has done a poopy in the potty!! What a way to celebrate Auntie Rache's visit Katy!!
Budding Sancta girl? We've just got to make sure that Auntie Rachel, as Chair of the Sancta Committee, keeps Sancta all-girls!!!
Katy loves to be involved in whatever the adults are doing...here she is taking Auntie Rachel and Uncle Paul on a tour of the house. She insisted Auntie Rachel get up and dance with her when the Beach Boys came on...
We had a lovely visit from Rachel and Paul and look forward to their next trip!
