Happy Birthday Jonah!

Jonah had his 2nd birthday party at the beach on Saturday morning. What a beautiful sunny day with cool breezes. It was just wonderful.
Regular readers of this blog will know that Katy's totally favourite friend is Jonah. She just loves him. No rhyme or reason. We don't have many regular playdates or classes together. But she always wants to hug and kiss him and her face lights up when his name is mentioned. Jonah is fond of Katy but not as touchy feely so poor Katy is always trailing after Jo Jo. Here she is giving Jo Jo a massage!
Katy is going through a hungry phase. Like parent like child, as soon as she had said hello to Jonah, she came and sat hungrily waiting for the food to be unveiled...
...and once it was, she polished off about 6 fried wontons, 2 ham and cheese triangle sandwiches and countless cheese sticks!! The only thing she didn't really take to was the jelly. She has tried it a few times but finds the texture a little strange I think. Mama and Dada loved the jelly - Auntie Adeline made it with agar instead of gelatine - and polished off two each of the jiggly cold berry sweet things.
The kids love the slides at the beach.
To Mama's chagrin, Katy has started climbing up to the highest slide. The little kids come flying down so fast - it is imperative I am at the bottom to catch Katy or she would be flung hither and thither. I have seen a few accidents with kids coming down without a spotter.
Katy has taken to wearing knickers lately. She always asks to wear them. We keep telling her she can wear them with no nappy if she would only learn to use the potty. She just ignores us!
Anya is much more ladylike...

Katy calls Jo Jo's Mama Adin (Adeline). When I correct her to say Auntie Adeline, she amends herself to say Adlin. No Auntie still...Auntie Adeline made Jo Jo's birthday cake herself!





Katy's new favourite animal is a lion. She has been listening to the Lion King tape that her cousins gave her for Christmas and following along with the book. She's also been obsessed with finding lions in all her other books.
