My first manicure
Nana will be envious! Katy will have so much fun joining in Nana and Ella's beautyshop games this Summer. Nana filed Katy's nails over Christmas and Katy was fascinated. Tia Ella clips her nails now. And Katy has long been fascinated by toenail polish. She has watched Poh Poh having pedicures at Sense of Touch, but was not keen to try it herself while she was there. Well, today we dropped in to see Auntie Yvonne and Uncle Rich, our neighbours down the block, and Auntie Yvonne gave Katy her first manicure with nail polish! She loved it! She was totally quiet and fascinated and concentrating trying to work it all out. It is amazing to see how much she absorbs. After not seeming to take much notice at the time, when she saw Julie afterwards, she told Kunaan about her manicure and showed her how she blew on her nails to dry them!

Then she got out the file to tidy her nails. Actually Katy found the clippers and asked Auntie Yvonne to clip her nails too! ("This one").
It was all a bit ticklish!
Then the fun part - Katy got to pick her own colour.
She chose a very ladylike and demure neutral pearl shade.
But was persuaded to do one nail in a bright orange to jazz things up a bit!
Uncle Rich came over to inspect the project.
Then of course Katy wanted to try doing it herself ("I do it").

And of course she wanted to do Mama's nails. Mama is flavour of the month at the moment. She really wants Mama to be there with her to do everything with her, even just to sit nearby to watch. I hope she always feels this way!
On our way out, Katy and Uncle Rich had a tickle fest. Katy loved tickling Uncle Rich and getting such a funny reaction!

Pretzels, cashews and her own water mug completed a lovely afternoon.

We're so blessed to have such wonderful neighbours who love Katy so much!
