Kung Hei Fatt Choy!!!

On the actual Chinese New Year Day, Kung Kung, Poh Poh, Uncle Bert and Auntie Pinkie came over to our place for a traditional lunch of Prime Rib, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and brussel sprouts.

Katy really got into the spirit of receiving and giving hongbao this year.

And she loved her windmills from Uncle Bert and Auntie Pinkie. This has become a bit of a Lai tradition now with Katy receiving windmills from the Victoria Park flower market. Next year, Mama and Dada will have to bring Katy to the market so she can experience it first hand!

Katy really loves holding Kung Kung's hand and sitting on his lap to eat.

Sweet potatoes have become one of her favourites again after she had a bit of a break from them over Christmas. Spinach and avocadoes also remain firm favourites and she has now developed a huge affection for mushrooms and prawns! She can't get enough of them!

Katy also loves "reading" with Kung Kung, which is quite impressive since Kung Kung is reading a Chinese magazine and we have not taught Katy many characters yet...
After lunch, Katy got her first taste of gambling, which is a traditional Chinese New Year activity. We played a game involving dice, symbols and placing bets on what would come up. A bit like roulette with pictures. Katy loved placing the coins and winning.
