Katy's Tea Party

Katy invited a few friends over for afternoon tea on the last Friday of January (30th). This is her latest obsession. She got a cute little pink tea set from Jonah for Christmas and she just loves it. She loves having her meals on the little plates using the little forks and spoons, and she loves ordering us to "sit down" [and then after prompting] "sit down please" so she can pour us water from her teapot. Very cute. Here she is eating muffins and drinking "tea" with Izzie and Eva.


Meanwhile, Ellie and Sam bounced together in the castle.
Just the last few weeks, we have been getting together with other kids Katy's age more often. Before, Katy was not really into playing with other kids her age, even though she has been seeing the same kids at playdates since 3 weeks old. She was really only into playing with older kids like her cousins. But with our friend Tiffany's encouragement (Tiffany is a Montessori trained teacher) Tia Mila and Kunaan have been taking Katy on playdates with Ellie and her Tita Evelyn (ie without Mommies) and Katy has become very fond of Ellie and is very comfortable with Tiffany (Mommy) and Evelyn (Tita). It's really sweet to see Katy making friends.

I think it has also helped that we have been able to get together with our DB playgroup again more regularly after a long break over Christmas and also that we see those kids almost every day at Kindermusik and Baby Ballet as well as playgroup.
